The Goliath Marine winch support system is designed to fit each hull in order to optimally fulfil its function.
It must support and provide an ideal position for the winch to facilitate boat lifting and launching operations. To do so, the stand must meet several conditions:
Its double flying buttress design, in automobile pressed steel, gives it unparalleled resistance to pulling forces and leverage effects. It is designed, regardless of its height, for boats up to 2200 kg.
It is placed, stopped in high position,, under the chain plate ring. The eccentric adjustment of the arm provides an optimum abutment. This position determines the choice of the stand height for the boat and leaves sufficient room to the handle to ensure rotation without colliding with the hull, even with very low semi-rigid hulls.
Stands are delivered as standard with an angle and horizontal opening adjustable rubber stop to fit any hull.
For rounded hulls, we offer an articulated stop with a larger horizontal opening Attention, this stop is also longer by 10 cm.the stand arm then needs to be lowered, which will move back the boat correspondingly as you can see on the photo opposite. It is then necessary to reserve its use strictly for very rounded hulls (angle >90°).
This position also gives the winch a low and horizontal pulling line which, combined with the rear roller system of our trailers, limits the nose lift of the boat, which therefore requires a very low draught. This combination is optimum for launching without immersion, even on a shallow slipway.
Goliath Marine stand comes in 5 sizes to fit any hull and any configuration.
A box is available free of charge on request, for the Nautilus and Rocca brands.
An extension system can be fitted on all our stands and makes it possible to correct the winch position, by moving it towards the back, especially to fit a second-hand trailer to a new boat or for a one-time boat transport.
The stand should not to be used as a tie-down point or stop for the boat. In fact, NO stand is mechanically capable to prevent a boat from hitting the towing vehicle in case of accident or collision.
Likewise, while winching, it is not recommended to put the boat in contact with the rubber pad, even if the latter is designed to protect the hull.
The QuickFlex tie-down system ensures the safety and perfect hold of the boat during transport.
